NEW: The Foundation Sound Effects Library
Hello everyone. I am excited to join the Pro Sound Effects stable and I am looking forward to sharing some of my experiences as I work on capturing new sound effects for the next generation of libraries. I have been a composer and sound designer for over ten years and most of that time has been spent working for the video games industry. In that time I have had some fantastic opportunities to collect some really interesting sound material and this inspired me to go into full time sound effects library production.
I love recording and creating sound effects material and each time I find something new I feel like a kid in a candy store. Our recent holiday in NSW provided one of those amazing opportunities when two siamang monkeys decided to have an argument. I was fortunate enough to capture ten minutes of angry monkey sounds. This is why I get out of bed in the mornings and the excitement I get from recording a Japanese folk festival, or a broken hire boat or the sound of snow falling from the treetops reinforces why I do this almost every day.
I hope that I can share some of that excitement with you in the PSE blog and that the sounds I capture can provide the inspiration to create great sound-scapes. I am currently working on some new sound material that I think is going to be a lot of fun for many of you and I will update everyone on those as things progress. I don’t leave the house without a recording device so I am sure there are going to be plenty of adventures and maybe even some sneak previews of things to come.
Curious? You can download 25 free sound effects from The Foundation Sound Effects Library.
Enjoy the library!
