Sonic Arts Awards 2014 Winners Announced

Another PSE-sponsored sound com­pe­ti­tion has decided its win­ners! This time it’s the Sonic Arts Awards 2014 with their sec­ond annual con­test aimed at the pro­duc­tion and pro­mo­tion of sonic arts at an inter­na­tional level.

First prize (€1,000.00) in the competition’s four cat­e­gories went to the fol­low­ing entrants:

Sound Art:  David Hochgat­terer – Time To X

Sonic Research:  Matija Str­nisa – Par­ti­cles of Accordeon

Sound­scapes:  Anna Rai­mondo – La vie en bleu

Dig­i­tal Art:  Tim Murray-Browne – The Cave Of Sounds

Two-week res­i­den­cies were awarded to Mat­teo Marangoni at Cardelli & Fontana Con­tem­po­rary Art Gallery in Sarzana and also to Eli Kes­zler at Caos Museum in Terni.

The Label Prize was awarded to Duane Pitre by FRATTO9 Records. Pitre will release an album to be included in the label’s catalogue.
