What’s New in the Hybrid Library 2017
This year the Hybrid Library saw a significant update, and we are excited to share more about the latest features of the “The Sound Designer’s Secret Weapon.”
We designed the Hybrid Library to be your go-to general sound effects library for daily use – a reliable source of creative fuel to help finish projects faster and produce better sound.
Take an inside look at the new 2017 features:
8,000 more sound effects to broaden your sonic palette:
Although the Hybrid Library was already an incredible value, when creating the Hybrid Library 2017 our mission was to add even more value and address some of the most common requests from our users.
We’ve added over 8,000 new sound effects from Sound Designer / Supervising Sound Editor J.R. Fountain (The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, Pompeii, Bride of Chucky). His sounds have a very natural feel and depth, and they sit well in film mixes with minimal effort. The sounds include some fantastic car recordings, Foley, and a wide variety of ambiences.
Search software to speed up your workflow:
Our next goal was to make the Hybrid Library more useful and easier to use immediately out of the box. While the Hybrid Library sounds are organized by category on the hard drive, we highly recommend using a sound databasing application to take advantage of the library’s extensive metadata and speed up your workflow.
This is why we’ve partnered with BaseHead to include a 1-year trial with the Hybrid Library 2017. The hard drive includes a pre-scanned BaseHead database so you can begin working right away by searching for sounds to drag-and-drop to your DAW.

Reviews of Hybrid Library 2017 are already coming in:
We were thrilled to read Post Magazine’s recent rave review of the Hybrid Library 2017 written by Freelance Sound Designer and Re-recording Mixer, Adrian Ferry:
“The Hybrid 2017 is the most thorough cross-sectional library that I have used in 18 years of work in the film & television industry.”
He goes on to say, “The value for money ratio is excellent. Plus, it’s not just quantity — you get quality of a rather high standard. The recordings are professional with low noise floors and clean subject content.”
We’re ecstatic to have Post Magazine’s endorsement! Mr. Ferry concludes:
“Would I recommend the Hybrid Library 2017? Yes, 100 percent hands down, and I don’t know how I got on so well without it for so long.”
