BBC Sound Effects to be used in Metropolis Ensemble Brownstone Concert

Pro Sound Effects is participating in a unique, location-specific music concert called Brownstone, conceived by the New York City-based chamber orchestra Metropolis Ensemble.

Attendees will stroll through a historical brownstone house in Brooklyn, NY and listen to live musicians scattered throughout the rooms.

An "electronic soundscape will fill halls and stairways creating a rhythmic and colorful sonic tapestry, blending with the various instruments in different ways depending on your location...The source material for the electronic music layer will be derived from the BBC Nature Sound Effects Library.  There are no synthesizers or other samples, only original recorded animal sounds, transformed into music by pitch shifting, time stretching, and other audio effects. "

Composer Jackub Ciupinski is the brainchild of this one-of-a-kind performance.  When he heard about the massive, globe-trotting sound libary through mutual friends, he got creative on us and proposed a collaboration.  We ended up providing select sounds from the BBC Sound Effects Library which we put out in cooperation with the BBC Information & Archives.

For tickets and other information visit the Metropolos Ensemble website.  The concert will be held on October 28, 7:30PM.
