Pro Sound Effects created the Hybrid Library to give freelance sound designers affordable access to a big studio library - a $10,000 value available for a fraction of the price.
Several Hybrid Library owners and applicants have asked about how pricing, updates and Expansions work throughout the year - in response, we put together this post. We hope it gives a clear overview of the Hybrid Library’s life cycle and pricing over the course of a year!
Included in your Hybrid Library purchase
The Hybrid Library consists of:
• 56,047 curated sound effects on hard drive
• 100 download credits for our Online Library of 215,000+ sounds
Aside from these main features, we are continually improving the Hybrid Library in collaboration with professional freelance sound designers. For instance, a major initiative of 2014 was refining metadata to find common nomenclature between the several different source catalogs for more consistent and effective searching.
Normal Pricing
Throughout the rest of the year, the Hybrid Library is available at its normal price of $2,500 -- still by application and only for qualified freelance sound designers.
Expansions
Every year we develop a new Expansion library based on feedback from Hybrid owners. These Expansions are meant to complement the Hybrid Library by filling gaps, expanding utility, and refreshing selection. Last year (2013) we introduced Expansion 1, and this year (2014) Expansion 2.
Each Expansion offers $2,500+ in retail value and is available only to Hybrid Library owners also at a fraction of the price.
Expansions are available for $500 each during the sale period, and then return to their normal price of $750.
Expansion features:
• Expansion 1: 10,856 sounds (61 GB) and 30 download credits for the Online Library.
• Expansion 2: 2,721 sounds (62 GB) and 50 download credits for the Online Library.
Add-ons
We work with Add-on partners to bring you the latest, greatest software are friendly freelancer prices. Hybrid Add-ons increase library usability, utility, and overall sound design workflow.
