Performed and captured using a specially-constructed metal sculpture, Metalmorphosis features 600 high-quality sounds perfect for adding a dramatic, unsettling edge to your projects. Featuring booming metallic groans, wandering wails and piercing squeals, this collection yearns to texture your sound design with character and provide the groundwork for boundless creativity.

Forged in the spirit of authenticity, the creation of Metalmorphosis began with the construction of a one-of-a-kind layered steel sculpture designed for the sole purpose of generating dense, full-bodied metallic noise. By dragging a violin bow across the contraption, recordist Colin Lechner craftily conceived sonorous layers of scrapes and grinds to add tension and texture to any project and design. These sounds are ideal for injecting your scenes with a shocking, mysterious element and are sure to raise hairs and heart rate alike.

Recorded with high-quality condenser microphones including an AKG C414, Neumann U87, and a Schoeps CMC 6U/MK 22, these resonant screeches and squeals are masterfully recorded for the utmost sonic clarity. The 9GB of raw sounds can be used to add a layer of mystery and shock to your projects, or altered to fit your creative needs. Recorded at the high sample rate of 192kHz, these sounds are ideal for experimental manipulation, giving you the freedom to pitch and process to seemingly no end.
